Sonic the Hedgehog Megamix V3.0 (Sonic 1 Rom Hack)

Sonic the Hedgehog Megamix (commonly shortened to Sonic Megamix) was an ambitious, yet unfinished multiperson disassembly modification of the original Sonic the Hedgehog developed by Team Megamix. Initially a Mega Drive project, the game would move to the Sega Mega-CD in its final years before laying dormant. The game features the ability to play as one of five different characters: Sonic the Hedgehog, Mighty the Armadillo, Shadow the Hedgehog, Miles "Tails" Prower, and Knuckles the Echidna. It was an extensive reworking of the original game, featuring new art, music, abilities, layouts, and other things.
